How would you
describe your style?
I would describe my style as rich simplicity. Timeless and classic. The forever art.
Layer upon layer of paint, the last one perfectly highlighting the previous one as it emerges in traces under the surface.
Often my pieces have at least 10 layers of different paints and techniques used. It’s a patient process of applying paint and letting it dry before the next layer. I do so until I feel the work is complete. Sometimes it is as much as 20 layers and months of work in order for all layers to dry correctly and the piece to come together. But in the end there is nothing better than the last layer, the layer of happiness and satisfaction. The high point at which I’m in love with the piece. Simply put, I paint until I fall in love with the piece.
It’s a gratifying process of self-knowledge and it gives back to me as much as I give to it. We slowly get to know each other as I peel off my layers to put more layers on my art.
In conclusion, what is the purpose of your art?
I consider my artworks to be subtle beauties that will have a stunning effect in their simplicity. They will surely bring their new owners the same happiness and joy that they have allowed me to feel through the creative process.
I would like for them to compliment and emphasize the beauty of the space that they will find themselves in, and simply put, all I would like for them is to just keep being loved.
